Vice President of R&D with 3TEX, Inc. (Cary, North Carolina). Before joining 3TEX in September 1998, Dr. Bogdanovich was a Senior Research Scientist at AdTech Systems Research, Inc. (Dayton, OH, 1995-98), Visiting Research Professor at North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC, 1991-95), Deputy Director of Research and Head of Structural Dynamics Laboratory at the Engineering and Technology Center (Riga, Latvia, 1989-91), Deputy Director of Research and Senior Research Scientist at the Institute of Polymer Mechanics (Riga, Latvia, 1975-89). Dr. Bogdanovich received MS degree in Physics from Latvian State University in 1972, Ph.D. degree in Solid Mechanics from Latvian Academy of Sciences in 1975, Dr. of Science degree in Solid Mechanics from Kazan State University (Kazan, Russia) in 1987, and Dr. habil. sc. ing. Degree from Latvian Academy of Sciences in 1998. Dr. Bogdanovich is the author of two reference books, two US patents, over 70 refereed journal articles, and over 70 conference papers. He has several professional awards for his research work, including Outstanding Technical Paper Award at SAMPE 2003 conference. Dr. Bogdanovich has 30 years of research experience in the areas of modeling and analysis of composite materials and structures, computational mechanics, finite element analysis, dynamics, impact and ballistics, textile composites, theory of plates and shells, failure and damage mechanics, probabilistic mechanics and reliability analysis of composite structures. He serves on editorial boards of journals Composites Part B: Engineering and Mechanics of Composite Materials. He is the Burlington Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Textile Engineering and until March 1998 was head of the Department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry, and Science at NC State University’s College of Textiles. He was also a member of The Mars Mission Research Center faculty. Dr. Mohamed has been recognized worldwide as an expert on weaving technology, woven and non-woven fabrics, and three-dimensional weaving with consulting in Egypt, Taiwan, Japan, Canada, Belgium, Morocco, Germany, as well as the United States. He has co-authored five books (three in Arabic and two in English) and over 100 technical publications. His weaving book, published in 1973 and 1982, has become a reference book worldwide. He is also a technical editor for weaving of Textile Industry (previously ATI) magazine. Dr. Mohamed is a fellow of the Textile Institute, UK and a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is the holder of six patents on 3 dimensional weaving, multi-axial three-dimensional fabric and weaving as well as their applications. He holds a B.Sc. (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from Alexandria University, Egypt in 1959. Senior Research Engineer - Dr. Keith Sharp Dr. Sharp is a Senior Development Engineer at 3TEX. Before joining 3TEX in June 2004, he was a Strategic Business Unit Leader and a New Product Development Engineer at Morganite Inc. (Dunn, NC, 2002-2003), Global Technical Director and Development Scientist at Morganite Electrical Carbon Ltd. (Swansea, Wales, U.K., 1998-2001), graduate student at North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC, 1993-1998), Research Pilot for 4950th Test Wing (Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, 1987-1992), and a KC-135 Pilot for the 22nd Air Refueling Wing (Riverside AFB, CA, 1983-1987). Dr. Sharp received his B.S. in Aero and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University in 1982. After 10 years as an Air Force pilot, he returned to graduate school and received his M.S. in Materials Science in 1995, and his Ph.D. in Materials Science in 1998. Dr. Sharp has 9 years of development experience in the areas powder processing, systems integration, sensors, and electro-mechanical systems. Much of his development experience focused on commercializing novel technologies.

Dr. Mungalov has Doctor of Science in Engineering degree from Institute of Polymer Mechanics, Latvian Academy of Sciences (Riga, Latvia, 1998) and MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Riga Polytechnic Institute, (Riga, Latvia, 1980). Before joining 3TEX in 1999, Dr. Mungalov worked at Institute of Polymer Mechanics (Riga, Latvia, 1977-1999) as Leading Scientist. His areas of expertise include Textile Engineering, Three-Dimensional Braiding, Mechanical Characterization of Composite Materials, Computer Modeling and Design of Composite Materials, Mechanics of Biocomposites.
